Marloes - Development & Private Donations Manager
Marloes also took part in our shooting in Amsterdam. She works as Development & Private Donations Manager for the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam ( IDFA ).
This documentary film festival has been around for 33 years now. It is no longer an insider tip, but one of the most famous festivals and the largest of its kind in the world. It takes place every year in November in Amsterdam and attracts numerous visitors to the city.
Marloes is a real cinema and film fan and feels very comfortable at the IDFA.
"I enjoy working at IDFA because I think it's important that people can learn more about the societies and cultures of other countries through films and exchange ideas about them with each other."
She is busy preparing for and following up on the festival all year round. She meets lots of new sponsors, but is also responsible for looking after them. During the festival she really gets going and can be found at a premiere, dinner or other event almost every evening. That sounds really spectacular to us. Marloes couldn't imagine a better job, but sometimes the job is exhausting, Marloes admits.
"My clothes have to be comfortable, chic and easy to combine. And also suitable for cycling, because I often cycle to film premieres."
Marloes is also a mom and wears her chic clothes not only to the office but also to the playground.
Her requirements are really high. We weren't sure if we could meet all of them. But after the shoot, Marloes had good news for us. Our red trousers passed the test. Especially in combination with the matching red top. Marloes felt super dressed in them. Even for a premiere, if she combined the outfit with high heels. In the office, she would rather wear flat shoes with them and a subtle blazer over them. And the trousers were comfortable and uncomplicated on the playground too.
The shooting itself was a success, although Marloes had not expected it:
"I don't think I'm photogenic at all - in contrast to my daughter, who would have loved to sneak into every photo. I'm pleasantly surprised by my photos. The photographer Suzanne did a great job. She was super patient and, as you can see, super flexible too."
We think the photos are great, whether with or without our daughter. And we are already looking forward to our pants going to the film festival in November. As a total film specialist, we had to ask Marloes about her favorite film:
"My favorite film is called 'FOR SAMA'. It is a moving film that a mother dedicated to her little daughter. It is a Syrian tragedy that began in 2016 with the uprisings against the Assad regime."
We thank Marloes and add the film to our to-do list.
